about
Go On is the new single by Alex Ricci & The Still Nothing. It was recorded in August 2013, shortly before drummer Nick Revington moved to Montreal to pursue a masters degree. The song showcases the band at their finest, and is a step in a more uptempo rock & roll direction. It also explores horns in a major way, with three of the five members playing a "horn section" during the chorus.
lyrics
Go on, go on
Tell me what’s on your mind this evening
Tell me, tell me cause I can’t sit still
Come on, I’ll reward your decision
You’re so, you’re so oblivious
Why don’t you wake up, give me a kiss
Show me, show me, whisper on my lips
Come on, reward me unconditionally
Who else could you spend all your time with?
No rush, I’m waiting, and I won’t let you forget
You look, you look like a suit of armour
But I know, I know heartbreak can live in there
I know, I know more than all of them
So give me something I can sink my teeth in
Who else could you spend all your time with?
No rush, I’m waiting, and I won’t let you forget
Leave me a broken mess under the couch
Leave me a spoken mistake of intent
Leave me a choking, dying little thing
Love me even if we don’t ever kiss
